The balance between freedom and responsibility highlights human solidarity and keeps the sentiments of ethical responsibility from fading. Solidarity is a key to share the advantages and disadvantages of development in an equal way. A challenge is that the ethical climate is fragmented. In sustainable society people are free, but responsible for other people’s vitality, self-esteem, dignity and resilience. In order to achieve this goal, we need shared responsibility. Is it possible to find shared moral in plural society or could we find common moral? What is global ethics?

In the global age justice extends beyond people who are physically related in our life including those who are a part of the causal chains of producing and consuming. I mean, for instance, people who produce raw materials of our mobile phones and computers, or farmers who grow our food far from us. Common wealth is on our hands because we have power over societies, animals, plants and ecosystems. A very essential question is how to maintain the current human capabilities and opportunities and support their expansion, so that future generations will have the same capabilities and freedom than we do – or even more? Maybe our responsibility should cover the whole complex planetary system? If true, how to make it happened?
